For the fifth year we’ll be riding and celebrating on the largest â€œglobal family bike ride” ever and we’re looking for another great event in 2019! Join us as THOUSANDS of families around the globe go for a bike ride together. We’ll be showing that all people on bikes kids to seniors are traffic too — and that cities that plan for biking for all ages are more livable, healthy, sustainable, profitable, and FUN!

Woman’s Equity Day: Ice Cream Social

Join us and the League of Women Voters Santa Monica this Sunday to celebrate Women’s Equity Day with ice cream in the park! Yes there will be nondairy options!!
Fun activities for all ages with our suffragette sash decorating along with a short program on Women’s Equity Day!

On August 18th we celebrated 100yrs of women’s right to vote. The bicycle was an integral part of the suffragette and women’s emancipation movement. This begins a year long centennial celebration and collaboration with the League of Women Voters Santa Monica. We hope you will join us.

Through a series of meetings, they are seeking community feedback on what measures of success are most meaningful and impactful, as well as what types of services are needed.

As valued local community partners, and people who live and work in Santa Monica, your insight is needed to ensure that the City’s social services are contributing to a safe, inclusive and diverse community that supports a thriving economy.  In addition to your own attendance at one of these meetings, we are asking that you share this opportunity with your networks.

Together we build a stronger and more inclusive community!

Wilshire Safety Study Community Meeting: June 8th

Community Engagement Public Meeting 1

The City of Santa Monica is conducting a roadway safety analysis for Wilshire Boulevard between Ocean Ave. and Centinela Ave. We want your help to identify safety issues and concerns!

Please join us and attend this first community workshop on June 8th at Reed Park Auditorium (1133 7th Street, Santa Monica). The meeting is open house format, so drop-in anytime.

In 2019 there will be a series of community engagement opportunities and outreach to help inform this project. Want to get involved? Please sign-up for project information at the weblink (below). Stay tuned for the second of these two larger community meetings this fall – 2019.

For those who can’t make it, there will be opportunities to provide comments online, or you can e-mail directly at safe.wilshire@smgov.net.

This effort is part of the citywide safety initiative called Take the Friendly Road.
