Tour de Laemmle

The 2nd Annual Tour de Laemmle is a free, 125-mile bicycle ride looping around Los Angeles with stops at all eight Laemmle locations. It will be led by third generation theatre owner and alternative transportation advocate, Greg Laemmle.

The ride starts at the Royal Theatre in West L.A. at 7am, but riders are free to join the group at several points along the route. Metro and Metrolink options abound for those looking for shorter options or for those worried about being unable to complete the entire loop. Beer and commemorative pint glasses await at the Royal Theatre for those who complete the entire route.

The main pack will probably stop for 10-15 minutes at most of the water stops (30-45 for lunch) but the stops will stay open from ~1 hour to over 3 hours as the pack spreads out. We’ll try our best to accommodate speedsters & stragglers, not just the pack.

The 2nd Annual Tour de Slurp 2015!

slurpee daySanta Monica Spoke is joining Spinlister for the 2nd Annual Tour de Slurp 2015.

One of LA’s premier athletic events, the tour is a bicycle ride to five different 7-Elevens on July 11th. At each store, we stop and celebrate 7-Eleven Day (aka Free Slurpee Day) by drinking said beverages.

We will start the approximately 10-mile ride at 1640 5th Street in Santa Monica, CA at 11AM on July 11, 2015. You don’t have to do the entire Tour, and riders of all levels are welcome.  We’ve selected a bike-friendly route that includes some short lengths on larger roads that may not be suitable for small children on their own bikes. The entire route is fine for children in trailers and tag-a-longs.
As always, if you need to rent a bike, Spinlister.com
 has you covered.
Keeping it Santa Monica sustainable – FREE Spinlister water bottle!
