Community Climate Action Summit

October 29, 2016 @ 10:30 am - 7:00 pm

Santa Monica is developing the City’s next Climate Action & Adaptation Plan, and want you to be a part of the process. This action plan will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, helping us become a resilient, carbon neutral community and prepare for climate change impacts.

This day-long event will feature engaging dialogue, dynamic crowd-sourced talks, known as Pecha Kucha, and a networking social hour. The Summit is a unique opportunity to provide meaningful input, work across sectors, foster collaboration, learn about recent innovations and envision the future of a carbon neutral Santa Monica. We want this plan to work, and we want it to work for you; your input will ensure that it is responsive to your needs and supports your ability to live a low-carbon lifestyle.

This event is organized by the City of Santa Monica, Climate Action Santa Monica and SustainableWorks with support from DNV-GL and Global Green.

Registration is strongly encouraged for this free event. Childcare will be available.

What the heck is Pecha Kucha?

Pecha Kucha was devised in Tokyo in 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. Pecha Kucha is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds for a total of 6 min and 40 sec. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images. We are inviting you to submit your own Pecha Kucha talk to present at the Summit! More details will follow.
